Biography

Eric C Kerley (BM, University of Cincinnati 1979, MM, University of Miami 1983) is a 1970 graduate of South Dade High School in Homestead, Florida, and was honorably discharged from the US Army in 1975. He has been an AFM member since joining Local 1, Cincinnati in 1977, transferring his membership to Local 655 in 1979. Eric has been a member of the Florida Philharmonic and other local symphonic and operatic orchestras, as well a veteran of several local Broadway seasons. He served on the Local Executive Board in the decade of the 80s, and in the 90s chaired the committee of the orchestra misclassified as the South Florida Symphony as it sought and achieved recognition from the NLRB as employees of Miami City Ballet. Eric has attended the AFM's Local Leaders course at the National Labor College in Silver Spring, Maryland.
