NLRB Rules Against Starbucks

As a result of Unfair Labor Practice charges filed by the IWW Starbucks Workers Union, Starbucks has agreed to reinstate workers who were discharged for union activity; to allow sharing of written union information on company property; and to end threats, bribes, and surveillance of members. The IWW Starbucks Workers Union was founded in 2004 and has worked to raise wages, improve job safety and secure work hours, and resolve grievances over issues such as payroll errors and exhausting schedules.

Boynton Beach High School is hoping to improve its D score from the state by partnering with the arts. Donald Trump recently donated $10,000 to the school after its chorus performed at his mansion, and the school is building new dance, drama, and chorus classrooms. They will also be partnering with Ballet Florida to bring daily dance instruction to the school.

Miami and Miami Beach was a hustle and bustle city during the WWII days....many servicemen were in the area. Big Swing Bands were the music of the times.  Many were short of players who were drafted or joined the military.  Most of the bands would search out local musicians when on tour.

By the time you read this, bankruptcy checks should be in the mail to members of the Florida Philharmonic. The final hearing will be on April 6, and the FPO has been directed to disburse funds no later than April 16. We expect the musicians to each receive on average over $12,000.
