Ask "What's it Pay?" Before You Play!
We got a couple of calls this month...different groups but the same problem. Musicians played a gig, and when they got a check a few weeks later, it was for less than they were expecting. We can never say this too much: ALWAYS ASK what the gig pays before you accept.

The New York Times has reported that the wage gap between America's richest and the poorest is the widest it has been since 1928. While productivity has risen 70 percent since 1979, most of those gains have gone to the richest 1 percent of Americans.

The Florida Youth Orchestra has been invited to participate in Jamestown, Virginia's 400th anniversary celebration.
The Broward Center for the Performing Arts adds the Miramar Cultural Arts Center to the list of venues that they manage. The Center also currently manages the Parker Playhouse and the Miniaci Performing Arts Center.
