05/29/07 Local Awards Scholarship
South Florida Musicians Association (SFMA) has awarded a $1000 Music Performance Fund Scholarship to Jaclyn Perez. Perez will be graduating from Cypress Bay High School and will be attending the University of Florida in the fall.05/01/07 Christine Nield-Capote, 1950-2007
Flutist Christine Nield-Capote passed away on April 26. She had been a member of Local 655 since 1973 and a member of the Florida Philharmonic since it was first formed. Prior to that she had been a member of the Florida Grand Opera Orchestra and the Fort Lauderdale Symphony.
