10/01/12 Membership Benefits from Union Plus

Since 1992, the Union Plus Scholarship Program has awarded more than $3.4 million to students of working families who want to begin or continue their post-secondary education. Over 2,200 families have benefited from our commitment to higher education. The Union Plus Scholarship Program is offered through the Union Plus Education Foundation.

Manatee County police and paramedics are considering union representation. Concerned that they are not being heard by county commissioners, police are seeking representation through the Police Benevolent Association and and paramedics are seeking representation through the International Association of EMTs and Paramedics.

Edward Villella has left Miami City Ballet eight months early. His wife Linda Villella has also resigned as director of the Miami City Ballet School, and the couple plans to move back to New York City. New artistic director Lourdes Lopez, who was not scheduled to start her position until next April, has already assumed hew new duties.
