08/01/13 From the President

Secretary-Treasurer Apana and I attended the American Federation of Musicians Convention in July this year and it was extremely positive and enlightening. In his opening speech, President Ray Hair told us where the AFM was when he took office three years ago, where it is now, and where it is going. 08/01/13 SFMA History: 1980's

The early 1980's saw both birth and death in the symphonic world. in 1982 the Miami Philharmonic folded, but a year later the Boca Raton Municipal Band added string players and changed its name to the Boca Raton Symphonic Pops, or the Boca Pops for short.
