Local 655 **Election Notice**

Elections will be conducted by mail. Ballots will be mailed to members in good standing no later than October 18, 2014. Please note that inactive life members are ineligible to vote and will not receive ballots. Ballots must be received by the Election Committee by Election Day, November 17, 2014 in order to be counted.

The grandson of Duke Ellington is suing EMI Music over foreign royalty payments. The suit alleges that EMI has breached a 1961 royalty contract by paying additional commissions to subpublishers owned by parent company Sony/ATV Music Publishing, which in turn reduces the royalties paid to the Ellington estate by as much as half.
