That Union Thing

Over 300 maintenance workers at Nova Southeastern University have won a right to be represented by the Service Employees International Union. The campaign for union representation began in 2006, when the workers were employed by UNICCO. But in 2007, the University replaced UNICCO with other service providers. The National Labor Relations Board later ruled that Nova violated the workers rights to form, join, or assist a union. The new agreement will raise workers wages by about 15 to 20 percent over the next three years.
