Please note that there are TWO vacancies for Director.

 All active members in good standing continuously for one year prior to nomination are eligible to run for office. In accordance with the Local 655 Bylaws, nominations will be taken from the floor, followed by a ballot vote. The newly elected officer shall be installed, and shall take office, immediately after the vote. If you are interested in being nominated you must be present or provide a written statement accepting the nomination prior to the meeting. Should a current Officer be elected, nominations and elections for the resulting vacancy will also be conducted at this meeting.

 

1. Amend Bylaws Article IX Section 6.b.1 as follows:

The Executive Board shall call a special membership meeting within 45 60 days of the vacancy in an office for the purpose of filling the vacancy, and any other business that may arise.

2. Amend Bylaws Article IX Section 5.c.1 as follows:

A printed, secret election ballot shall be mailed to each member of the Local no earlier than 45 days and no later than 30 days prior to election day, along with instructions for completing and returning it. 

3. Amend Bylaws Article XIII Section 5 as follows: 

Seven (7) Fourteen (14) days notice is required for the cancellation of engagements unless mutual consent is given.

4. Amend Bylaws Article IX by inserting a new section after Section 2 (and renumbering subsequent sections) as follows: 

NEW Section 3. Eligibility to Vote: In order to vote in an election, a person must be a member in good standing continuously for at least 60 days prior to election day.

The Bylaw Committee reports favorably on these proposals.
