Why did you join AFM Local 655?
I have been a member of Local 655 for many years reasons I have joined is for fair wages, Insurance Liability and Instrument Insurance. In a addition for the protection the Union gives its members and I always have been a strong advocate for Union Representation.
Tell us About Yourself:
Carey Kleiman received his Bachelors & Masters Degree in Music from the University of Miami. Over his career he has performed and produced with Ray Charles, Frank Sinatra, Boyz to Men, Woody Herman, Kathy Lee Gifford, Tony Bennet, Bee Gees, Justin Timberlake and served as a musical supervisor/contractor for syndicated television Shows. On the Classical side he has performed with the Honolulu Symphony, Miami Philharmonic, and Ft. Lauderdale Symphony. As a woodwind doubler he has been featured on recordings and television shows on Clarinet, Saxes, Flute and Piccolo. In the 1980’s he formed his own music production company and served as the musical & Entertainment director for the Diplomat Hotel working many of the celebrities and the hotel’s entire convention clients. Later he formed CK Entertainment which specializes in corporate, meeting and Social Events Entertainment. In addition he is an adjunct professor of Music Business & Clarinet and woodwinds at Broward College.
