Local 655 is increasing our focus and participation in MPTF jobs that are educational. These jobs are funded 50% by MPTF, allowing you to approach a potential sponsor by bringing 50% of the monies for your performance to the bargaining table. The performances, while not exclusively in schools, provide music appreciation and education to students and teachers.
Help us counter the steep cuts in school music funding, nurture tomorrow’s musicians, and educate the future music-buying public by promulgating live music and education.
