Larry Warrilow, 64

Lawrence David Warrilow, a prominent member of the south Florida musical community, died peacefully at home on May 18, 2010. Larry, a south Florida native and member of Local 655 for forty years, was an accomplished guitarist, arranger, orchestrator, and copyist. In the 60's ad 70's he performed with various bands, including the Peter Graves Orchestra, where he developed a close relationship with Jaco Pastorius. As a sound engineer, Larry worked for noted artists such as Count Basie, Bob James, and Randy and Michael Brecker. He worked as arranger, orchestrator, and copyist for artists such as the Bee Gees, Barbra Streisand, and Ziggy Marley. Larry also wrote music for the first episode of Miami Vice. Larry is survived by his siblings Steve, Dave, Sue, and John, and by his ex-wife Helen Stephens. A memorial service is tentatively planned for June 24 at 7 PM at the Jaco Pastorius Park Community Center.
