According to the New York Times, salaries for CEOS at America's largest corporations rose twenty percent last year, and according to the Wall Street Journal, their bonuses also rose over thirty percent. The percent of income held by the wealthiest Americans is at a level not seen since the 1930's. According to CIA Factbook, America's family-income equality, the gap between the income levels of the richest and the poorest, ranks 97th in the world, behind such countries as China, India, Egypt, Nigeria, and Nicaragua.
