Bylaw Change Summary

  • Article VI, Section 2 (a): Late charge of $5 if annual dues are paid in February.

  • Article VII, Section 1: Members with unpaid annual dues after 2 months shall be suspended and shall be required to pay reinstatement fee of $10.

  • Article VII Section 2, paragraph 2: delete this paragraph requiring members with unpaid annual dues over 9 months to re-affiliate as new members.

  • New Section: Article VII Section 3: Any member whose regular membership dues remain unpaid for 9 months shall be required to pay dues for the delinquent period, current dues, and a reinstatement fee of $50.

  • Article VII, Section 4 changed to read: Any member may resign from the Local in good standing by submitting a written request to the President/Secretary for submission to the Executive Board to resign in good standing, provided that such member has no outstanding obligations to the Local and no charges or claims are pending against him/her and provided that his/her dues are paid for the current period. A member having resigned in good standing may be reinstated upon payment of the current period dues and a reinstatement fee of $20.

  • Article III Section 3, Article III Section 5(e), Article V Sections 1 and 2: Make the President the first delegate and the Vice President the alternate delegate to Conventions and Conferences of the AFM (eliminating the second and third delegates).

Wage Scale Changes

  • Correction to Symphonic Rehearsals: rehearsals ending after 6pm are a 3-hour minimum.

  • Increase in Per Diem based on IRS rules (currently $36/day).

  • Revision of Lodging: rates based on AAA 3-diamond minimum (2 to a room) in applicable area.

  • Definition of related doubles.

  • Rules: contractors must give start and finish times when booking engagements

  • Rules: players must be ready to perform 15 minutes before the start of the engagement.
