FL-GA Conference
President Graves and Trustee Gabriel both attended the conference, held in Jacksonville this past April. Keynote Speaker Tom Bailey gave an overview of the Federation’s 3-year plan; major topics were increased membership and increased employment under contract.
Bailey also discussed his home Local’s extremely successful referral program, which will soon become a full booking agency. It has enabled his Local to help its members develop, as well as to get them gigs.
International Representative James Kitchings outlined the new role of the IR’s. They will be targeting a few Locals, including 655, for an extended stay. They will work in depth with the Local to increase membership and organize members. Kitchings is scheduled to begin his work with Local 655 in mid-September.
