Plans for the Florida Philharmonic Orchestra's 2000-2001 season include "Brief Encounters." Each concert during the season will include a short composition by a living composer. At the end of the season, audiences will vote for their favorite new composer. Lengthier works by composers with highest "Brief Encounters" ratings will be performed in subsequent seasons…

The Miami Symphony will perform at Carnegie Hall on June 29. The trip was partially financed by grants and they will be accompanied by representatives of Miami and Dade County…
