Member Feedback

Dear friends at Local 655,

Thank you for your kindness and your intervention in the matter of the insurance. I deeply appreciate the warm friendship you have shown me. You have no idea how much it has helped. I pray God will recompense you in some special blessings.

Very Sincerely, M’Adele Rollings

From the Editor

I have received several comments about the content of the last issue (March/April 2000) and would like to clarify some of the issues brought up…

Symphony of the Americas

When first approached about running the "Feedback" letter from Renee LaBonte, my initial reaction was to not publish it, and in hindsight that’s what should have been done. Since publication, we have received confirmation that the Symphony of the Americas did indeed contact University of Miami faculty in search of students to cross the Atlanta Ballet picket line. The facts in the LaBonte letter should have been better investigated before printing, and the editor apologizes for this.

Miami Symphony Orchestra

It has been policy from day one to use this newsletter to keep members informed of news related to the music industry in south Florida. While the Miami Symphony, New World Symphony, Palm Beach Pops, etc. are not currently Union orchestras, we feel that it is important for you to know what ALL organizations in south Florida are up to and where your tax dollars (in the form of government grants) are going. It is not our intention that publication of facts relating to these ensembles be viewed as an endorsement of their activities; it is merely a statement of fact to keep you informed of what everyone is up to.
