I am extremely pleased to announce that the new three-year CBA has been ratified
and signed and the new scales and conditions commenced with the start of “Lion
King” at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts. … TEMPO … I urge each and
everyone to help, if everyone in the AFM gave just $1.00 per year that would
give the AFM $100,000.00 to work with in Congress on behalf of musicians’
causes. …
Palm Beach Opera … The proposed sideletter language is available for
viewing on our website and the ratification vote will take place in early
December. …Florida Philharmonic Orchestra… The new Tour Agreement is in
place and the orchestra used the new agreement to travel to Daytona Beach for
its recent successful concerts. … Symphonic Electronic Media Forum Survey
& Report … Both the Florida Philharmonic Orchestra and the Palm Beach Opera
Orchestra are being asked to participate in this procedure, whereby the results
will help determine the direction the AFM will take in future negotiations for
symphonic recording agreements. … Palm Beach Pops Orchestra … The management of
the Palm Beach Pops Orchestra has refused all of our attempts to discuss with
them the idea of an agreement that would get the benefits for our members that
they so rightfully deserve. Now the management has reacted by sending a letter
to the musicians attacking us, while at the same time trying to confuse the
issues and distort the facts. We have responded to the musicians and to management and
we are still hopeful of reaching an amicable agreement with them, as we have with
