Hats off to Calvin Holt, who joined Local 655 this past October. Calvin took up the MPTF challenge and played Miami Gardens Nursing Home to a delighted crowd. MPTF co-funded Calvin’s performance with a 50% contribution, and the nursing home picked up the other half.

Broward Schools K-12 Seek Musicians For MPTF Jobs
Music Performance Trust Funds and the Broward Schools are currently accepting proposals for MPTF performances. Damian Huttenhoff, Director for Student Support, met with MPTF Rep Jake Luger recently to streamline the process for Local 655 members to present educational programs for Broward Schools. All grade levels can be targeted for proposals, especially high schools.
This is a fabulous opportunity for members to engage, educate, and energize future music patrons.
