Antonio Fuscaldo, 85

Tony, an accomplished accordionist, joined Local 655 in 1989,  was a member of five AFM Locals, and served as board member and treasurer of the Tucson Local. He had played with the Tex Fletcher Band at Madison Square Garden and the Wharton Ford Orchestra.

George Walters, 81

George, pianist, arranger, and member of Local 655 since 1957, had played for Nat King Cole, the Ray Bolger TV Show, and the Gene Krupa Orchestra. As a member of The Vagabonds, he performed at the Fountainbleau and Diplomat Hotels for artists such as Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis jr., Jackie Gleason, and Bobbie Darrin.

Leon Schwartz, 71

Leon, a Local 655 member since 1958, had a career that spanned 57 years and took him from Brooklyn to NYC, Cuba, Las Vegas, L.A., Florida, and Taos, New Mexico. He played with jazz greats Dinah Washington, Chris Conner, Zoot Sims, Stan Getz, Dexter Gordon, Sonny Sitt, and Monty Alexander. Leon loved to amuse and entertain and sharing his music was his joy in life. He was often known to say, “Bird Lives.” He is survived by his wife Glenda and daughter Carrie.
