Florida Philharmonic Recordings Protected

South Florida Musicians Association, the Florida Philharmonic Orchestra, and Peter McGrath have reached an agreement regarding the disposition of the Florida Philharmonic archival recordings.
In a court order signed by Judge Raymond Ray on August 2, the recordings are directed to be stored by Mr. McGrath. The Order also directs Mr. McGrath to obtain permission from South Florida Musicians Association and any featured artist before any of the recordings (or copies) may be given into the custody of any other party, or used for any commercial purpose.

The Florida Philharmonic collective bargaining agreement permitted the orchestra to make archival recordings of any or all of their performances, and Mr. McGrath served as audio engineer for many of those recordings. This agreement will preserve an irreplaceable piece of the Florida Philharmonic history while protecting the interests of the musicians who performed on those recordings.
