Grants Help Teenagers Learn To Drive

Union members now can cut way down on family stress—and on their auto insurance premiums, too.

Make teaching a teenager to drive easier – and safer – with a grant of up to $250 to help pay for a “behind the wheel” driver’s education course. The grants are available only to union members insuring their cars with Union Plus Auto Insurance. Classes are offered locally and typically cost between $300 and $600.
No other insurance offers a program like this to help teenagers be better drivers. And if the teen driver is on a Union Plus Auto Insurance policy, members can save on their premiums, too. Many states allow premium discounts for drivers who successfully complete a driver’s education program.

Experienced drivers can save on their premiums with additional driver training. Driver’s Education Grants will reimburse the full cost of in classroom or online defensive driving programs, including classes for mature drivers like 55 Alive.

The unique driver’s education grants are but one way union members benefit with Union Plus Auto Insurance. Union members switching to Union Plus Auto Insurance (offered through AIG) have saved an average of $398 per year, thanks in no small part to the special discount for union members. (This average is based on all new Union Plus policyholders who reported their previous premiums when switching between 7/15/05 and 7/15/06. 86.7%realized a premium savings.) Savings will vary around the country.
