Elections for Vacant Offices Scheduled
Due to the resignations of Dan Satterwhite and Dana Teboe, elections for the offices of President and Director will be conducted at a Membership Meeting to be held on:
Saturday, September 27, 2008 at 11:00 AM at the Local offices (5861 SW 21 St., Hollywood)
All active members in good standing are eligible for nomination. In accordance with the Local 655 Bylaws, nominations for the vacant offices shall be taken at the special membership meeting from the floor, followed by a ballot vote. The newly elected officers shall be installed, and shall take office, immediately after the vote. If you are interested in being nominated you must be present or provide a written statement accepting the nomination prior to the meeting. Should a current Officer be elected, nominations and elections for the resulting vacancy will also be conducted at this meeting.

I'm glad to see that some progress is being made with stablizing the board and our organization. I will not be able to attend the meeting on the 27th because I will be at orchestra rehearsal, but I will be there in spirit. Best of luck with the election. Sincerely, Janice P. Gillies
