Reginald Nicholson Memorial Service Scheduled

We regret to announce the passing of Reginald F. Nicholson. Reggie was a Local 655 member for over 40 years. He retired from the Miami-Dade Public Schools in 2004, following a 36-year teaching career. A longtime Coconut Grove resident and former Commodore of the Coconut Grove Sailing Club, Reggie continued to be active as an instructor at the New World School and the University of Miami Young Musicians Camp, French hornist with Miami Symphony, and Artistic Director/Conductor of the Alhambra Orchestra. He mentored countless students throughout his career, and will be missed throughout the South Florida musical community. Reggie is survived by his beloved wife Carol.

As music was so significant in his life, Reggie asked that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be sent to his alma mater, the University of Miami's Frost School of Music.  Checks can be made out to the Frost School of Music, University of Miami, 1320 S. Dixie Highway, Suite 300, Coral Gables, FL 33146 and earmarked for the Reginald F. Nicholson Scholarship Fund.
