Proposal 1
ARTICLE IX NOMINATIONS AND ELECTIONS
Section 1. Nominations and elections shall be held
biennially in odd-numbered yearstriennially. Terms of office shall begin in years whose final digits are divisible by three.With the proviso that this amendment shall take effect with the term of office commencing in January of 2012.
Section 4. NOMINATIONS
1.Any member in good standing continuously for two years prior to nomination day shall be eligible for nomination to office.

Proposal 2 (Substitute)
NEW ARTICLE VII OFFICERS No Titled Local Officer (President, Vice President, Secretary-Treasurer) shall serve in the position of Personnel Manager or Contractor of musicians in the Local’s jurisdiction.
ARTICLE VII Section 2(a) The President shall: Have authority, with the approval of the Executive Board, to appoint
business agents and otherpersonnel to assist in the duties of the President.NEW ARTICLE VII Section 2(a) The President shall: be Chief Executive Officer, responsible for implementing the policies and directives enacted by the Executive Board
NEW ARTICLE VII Section 2(a) The President shall: serve as a business representative for the Local and as such shall make on-site visits to places in the jurisdiction where musicians are performing, the minimum number of annual visits to be determined by the Executive Board.
NEW ARTICLE VII Section 2(a) The President shall: enforce observance of the bylaws
ARTICLE VII Section 2(c) The Secretary-Treasurer shall: Record the proceedings of the meetings of the Local, and handle the correspondence of the Local
as requested by the President.NEW ARTICLE VII Section 2(c) The Secretary-Treasurer shall: Make public records of the Local available to members, upon request
NEW ARTICLE VII Section 2(c) The Secretary-Treasurer shall: schedule orientations of new members
NEW ARTICLE VII Section 2(c) The Secretary-Treasurer shall: serve as a business representative for the Local and as such shall make on-site visits to places in the jurisdiction where musicians are performing, the minimum number of annual visits to be determined by the Executive Board.
ARTICLE VII Section 2(d) The Executive Board shall: Have the authority to vacate a Director’s office if that Director is absent from more than
twothree Executive Board meetings per calendar year,except absences due to illness, or absences excused by the President.ARTICLE VII Section 2(h) DUTIES OF THE OFFICERS The President and the Secretary-Treasurer shall be the signatories to the Local’s agreements and financial accounts. The two signatures shall be required on the Local’s checks and all other disbursements of Local funds.
ARTICLE VII Section 3 Wages and Benefits President:
$2,600$5,200 per year, paid weekly.ARTICLE VII Section 3 Wages and Benefits Secretary-Treasurer:

Business Representatives for Casual, Recording, and Symphony may be appointed by the respective Standing Committee, subject to Executive Board approval.
