According to IHS Screen Digest, more movies will be watched online than on DVDs in 2012.
Digital copies bought or streamed online will grow 135 percent to 3.4 billion, with streaming subscription services accounting for 94 percent of online consumption. However, due to the low cost to consumers, online consumption will only account for 12 percent of revenue from home viewing of movies.More Spanish-language telenovas are being shot in Miami. Five telenovas are currently being filmed in south Florida, adding $40 million in spending to the local economy, up from $11.5 million spent in 2009. The growing American Hispanic audience, marketing opportunities, and tax breaks are encouraging Univision and Telemundo to increase production in south Florida.
