The Kravis Center has been placed on the national AFL-CIO Boycott List. The placement was at the request of the International Association of Theatrical and Stage Employees (IATSE). IATSE has been in a dispute with the Kravis Center since 2000, and since that time the National Labor Relations Board has ruled that the Center has committed unfair labor practices and owes workers at least $2.6 million in back wages for illegally denying them employment.

The AFM has reached an agreement with the ABC, CBS, and NBC networks on a new agreement covering live and recorded television, including shows such as American Idol and the Tonight Show.The three-year agreement includes increases in base wages, pension, and health and welfare contributions, as well as provisions covering additional payments when shows are broadcast online or in webcasts.

The Palm Beach Symphony has commissioned Nico Muhly to compose a fanfare for the orchestra's 40th anniversary in 2013. Muhly is best known for composing the score to the movie, The Reader. The fanfare, scored for brass and percussion, will be premiered during the 2013-14 season.
