That Union Thing
According to a new Gallup Poll, 58 percent of Americans approve of labor unions. Women and young adults were more likely to approve of unions, and those in the south were less likely.
Department of Labor Wager and Hour Division administrator David Weil has issued a new letter of guidance clarifying employee and independent contractor classifications. Using the Fair Labor Standards Act as the foundation, he concludes that most workers are employees. According to the National Employment Law Project, at least several million employees are misclassified as independent contractors.
