The Vero Beach High School orchestra will be performing in Austria in 2017. The orchestra has been invited to represent Florida at the American Celebration of Music. The orchestra of 150 musicians has previously performed in New York, Chicago, and Washingto D.C.

The San Francisco Ballet musicians have ratified a new five-year agreement, retroactive to this past season. The new agreement raises wages 2.5 percent in each of the first three years and by three percent in each of the final two years. The agreement also includes increases in seniority pay and personal leave for string players, and improvements in conditions in the pit.

The Baltimore Symphony muscians have ratified a new one-year agreement which includes raises of over six percent. The short length of the agreement was due to the imminent departure of the BSO President and CEO; negotiations for future seasons will take place once a new CEO is named.

The Atlanta Opera has received $600,000 from the Molly Blank Fund. The grant will be used to fund the "Discoveries" Series, which are more intimate shows in diverse venues such as the Atlanta Botanical Gardens.

Mark and Patricia Joseph have donated $1.2 million to the Baltimore Symphony. The funds will be used to triple the number of financially disadvantaged students who attend the Symphony's midweek concerts for local schools.

The 78 musicians in the Detroit Symphony have received a total of $390,000 from the estate of the late Marjorie Fisher. Fisher, a long-time supporter of the Symphony, earmarked $5,000 for each musician in her will.

The first season for Jacksonville Symphony's new Music Director Courtney Lewis and new CEO Robert Massey has set records. Ticket sales increased nine percent, contributed income increased six percent, and the number of patrons that visited the Symphony increased by eleven percent.
