- Saved the Life Insurance program despite premium increases.
- Negotiated the 1996-1997 Miami Chamber Symphony CBA.
- Negotiated the 1996-1997 scales for the Boca Pops.
- Successfully defended a tenure challenge with the Boca Pops.
- We continue to collect unpaid scale increases and unpaid pension from the Miami Chamber Symphony.
- Investigated and corrected claims enabling Ballet Etudes performers to be properly credited with the Pension Fund.
- Collected wages on behalf of unpaid musicians, eg. for a 1995 performance on "CBS This Morning."
- Revamped the newsletter and published several information-packed issues educating members on the music business.
- Obtained a toll-free number for those calling in from Palm Beach county.
- Signed several new booking agencies and electronic media producers as signatories, including Elite Booking Agency and Showstoppers Entertainment.
- Raised the Wage Scales and changed the Bylaws to better address the changing industry and guarantee member service.
- Restarted the Referral Program.
- Upgraded the computer system for better service.
- Negotiated the 1996-99 PTG-FL CBA.
- Held informal meetings to address issues concerning Life Members, resulting in the formation of MALMA.
- Began informal meetings to obtain input from recording musicians.
- In spite of the lack of a filed contract, we averted what could have been a blackball situation for an annual concert series and established a relationship with management resulting in contracts for future engagements being filed.
- Begun dialogue with the Palm Beach Opera Orchestra and the Greater Palm Beach Symphony to sign CBA’s and secure pension contributions for members.
- Moved the office to a more central location at I-95 and Hollywood Blvd.
- Investigated reviving Credit Union privileges for our members.
- Modernized and expanded the Membership Directory.
- Elected officers and a board to carry on the work we’ve started.
