Executive Board Meeting Number 00-6, 14 July 2000

 Meeting called to order at 1:20pm.  In attendance: President Graves, Treasurer Apana, and Board Members Ballard, Barnes, and Scafati. VP Fox was excused due to attendance at an electronic media conference in LA. Bahler excused due to personal emergency.

 Presentation and discussion of Sunshine Pops request for use of Low Budget Symphony Scale for 2000-1 season.  MSC to postpone approval vote until following week.

 Reading of Minutes and report of new members.  MSC to approve minutes and new members.

 VP Report read by Apana.  $383800 in wages YTD on recording contracts. New recording projects on contract from Chayanne, Ricky Martin, and Christine Aguilera because members are requesting that projects have Union contracts filed.

 Treasurer's Report: So far, 29 new members have joined during the MMD.

 President's Report: discussion of upcoming Symphonic A/V negotiations and recently ratified Internet Agreement.  Discussion of grievances with FPO, BPO (pending), and PBO. Discussion of MCS delinquency in forwarding work dues and talks with FGO.  SFX negotiations are still in progress.  Chamber Music Management is now filing contracts.

 Report of committees: PR Committee reports that MMD brochures were sent to 100 nonmembers and left at several local music stores, and Bob Weinstein of City Link Newspaper was approached about putting a notice in the newspaper.  Bylaw committee reports unfavorably on petition to amend the Bylaws by reducing the number of signatures required to submit a petition to amend the Bylaws from 25 to 5.

 NEW BUSINESS: MSC to waive outstanding dues for recently resigned members H Sheppard and R Carlos. MSC to waive outstanding charges for Stephanie Firdman. Discussion of amendment to the Bylaws reducing the years of membership in Local 655 required for Life Membership from 35 to 20; MSC to present resolution to the Membership.  MSC to waive initiation fees and 4th quarter dues for Lillian Rivera in exchange for her translating Local 655 pamphlets into Spanish.
