Regular Executive Board Meeting Number 09-5,  May 16, 2009 at 10:00 AM

Meeting called to order at 10:13 AM by VP Chandler. Present: Chandler, Apana, Ballard, Clippard, De Los Santos, Kerley; absent: Corcillo, Potochnic, Tempkins.

MMC to approve minutes of April 2009 meeting.

Secretary-Treasurer's Report: presentation of expense report, membership rolls, bank balance data, and new members. Apana reported on receipt of a single standardized AFM videogame agreement.

Vice-President's Report: presentation of written report. Chandler reported on conversations with Durham regarding pension obligations.

President's Report: MMC (moved by Apana) to postpone report until arrival of President.

Director Ballard reported on conversations with PBO OC regarding potential request for contract reopener; conversations with Gabriel regarding recording contract coordinator position; discussions regarding MSO immigration issues.

Unfinished Business: none

New Business: MMC (moved by Apana) to grant Kula request to broadcast Klezmer concert on local radio provided that musicians receive appropriate minimum scale wages. Motion made by Apana to withdraw portions of proposed Bylaw amendments; extended discussion; MMC (moved by Apana) to postpone indefinitely. Kerley departed at 12:00 PM.

Good and Welfare: discussion of upcoming networking event. Apana noted that Broward Cultural Affairs has established a social networking event for cultural executives.

De Los Santos departed at 12:30 PM, at which time a quorum was lost and the meeting was adjourned.
