Regular Executive Board Meeting Number 10-3, March 22, 2010 at 11 AM at Artserve

Meeting called to order at 11:09 AM. Present: Clippard, Holstein, Apana, Kerley, Kolcz, Salmasian, van Eck.

MMC to approve minutes of February 2010 meeting.

Secretary-Treasurer's Report: presentation of expense report, membership rolls, bank balance data, and new members. Apana reported on new AFM websites, AFM-EPF rehabilitation plan, KWS nonpayment of wages, preparation for PBO negotiations, members suspended for nonpayment of dues, notice of commencement of SRLA negotiations.

President's Report: Clippard reported on conversations with Teboe regarding enforcement of the TV Videotape agreement for a recording done last summer. Turner arrived at 11:32 AM. Corcillo arrived at 11:35 AM.

Report of Committees: none

Special Orders: MMC to schedule next meetings for 4/29/10 at 11:30 AM and 5/24/10 at 2 PM.

Unfinished Business: none

New Business: MMC (moved by Salmasian) to deny Caputo request to allow musicians to do gratis recording session. MMC (moved by Apana) to propose to amend Local 655 Bylaws by increasing the Local 655 AFM-EPF contribution rate for employees to 8.5% on the date of the implementation of the AFM-EPF first surcharge, and to 9% on April 1, 2011. MMC (moved by Clippard) to schedule membership meeting for May 24, 2010 at 4 PM. MMC (moved by Apana) to create networking nite sponsorship levels of $50 and $100, with listings of sponsors in announcements, networking booklet, services directory, and on website and (for higher level) attendance at event and table space to display sponsor information. MMC (moved by Clippard) to hold networking nite three times per year. MMC (moved by Apana) to authorize $250 in expenses for March 2010 networking nite.

Good and Welfare: Holstein noted that TCO and NWS have scheduled side-by-side chamber music concerts at MOCA, which may violate the Fence Agreement. Holstein noted that some musicians believe that contractors discriminate against AFM members. Clippard noted that KWS musicians have not been paid for the January 2010 concert, nor reimbursed for travel expenses. Apana suggested that the Local consider hosting jam sessions.
