Regular Executive Board Meeting Number 11-6, June 17, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Artserve

Meeting called to order at 11:12 AM. Present: Clippard, Holstein, Apana, Corcillo, Kerley, Kolcz, Salmasian; absent: Van Eck.

MMC to approve minutes of May 2011 meeting.

Secretary-Treasurer's Report: presentation of expense report, membership rolls, bank balance data, and new members. Apana reported on attendance at the Southern Conference: AFM-EPF status update. Turner arrived at 11:28 AM.

Apana continued to report on attendance at Southern Conference: increase in AFM membership; new SSD director appointment; proposed national booking service; Union Plus usage statistics; proposal to update MENC Code of Ethics. Apana reported that Satterwhite has been asked to give a deposition in FGO/YouTube lawsuit.

Vice President's Report: none.

President's Report: Clippard reported on Southern Conference attendance: SSD hiring of bankruptcy attorney. Clippard reported on giving presentation to Women in Jazz; filing of BAA grievance.

Report of Committees: none.

Special Orders: MMC to schedule next meeting for 7/18/11 at 1 PM.

Unfinished Business: none.

New Business: MMC (moved by Apana) to transfer funds to a union-friendly bank consistent with AFL-CIO Union Summit plan, provided that bank provides that same level of service as current bank (Salmasian opposed). Discussion of advertising in other unions' publications; MMC to postpone discussion until more details are gathered regarding options and costs. MMC (moved by Apana) to authorize purchase of new computer. MMC (moved by Apana) to continue AIL accidental death policy (Turner opposed). Discussion of OM pension delinquency; MMC to contact OM once more and if OM fails to respond, to turn over to AFM-EPF collections. Discussion of placing notice in newsletter regarding Sunset Entertainment wage delinquency; Apana noted that this is already planned for August or September. MMC (moved by Apana) to host Southern Conference in 2015.
