Regular Executive Board Meeting Number 15-3, 23 March, 2015, at Local 655 Offices

Meeting called to order at 7:07 PM. Present: Satterwhite, Apana, Dixon, Leon, Reskin; absent: Bertolet, Aron, Corcillo, Michels. Satterwhite assumed the chair.

MMC to approve minutes of February 26, 2015 meeting.

Secretary-Treasurer's Report: presentation of expense report, membership rolls, bank balance data, and new members. Apana reported on correspondence from MPF re partnership with National Council on Aging to present concerts.

VP Report: Satterwhite reported on conversations with Bertolet, Apana, Warman, Manley, and Persi re BAA hiring list; recruiting efforts with FGO musicians; problems with student observers in pit for Wicked.

President's Report: Satterwhite read a report from Bertolet re discussions about BAA hiring list and requesting professional decorum during debate.

Committee Reports: Dixon reported on the appointment of Davis Stern as PBO chief conductor and his subsequent request for the resignation of E Chapo.

Special Orders: MMC to schedule next meeting for 4/20, 4/27, or 5/4, at 4 PM, subject to availability of absent officers.

Unfinished Business: MMC (moved by Dixon) to appoint K Hawley to Symphonic Committee. MMC (moved by Satterwhite) to appoint Satterwhite to Scale Committee. Verification of poll: MMC to approve amended BAA hiring list. MMC (moved by Satterwhite) to adopt a soundcheck rate as follows: one-hour call, prorated at the overtime rate of 150 percent of scale, provided that the soundcheck ends no later than one hour before the start of the performance.

New Business:  MMC (moved by Apana) to schedule membership meeting for June 1 at noon. Motion by Satterwhite to conduct membership drive; MMC (moved by Apana) to postpone discussion until June meeting.

Good and Welfare: Apana reminded the Board that we have been encouraged to have a presence at the KCPA Pippin production April 28-May 3. Discussion of SFS and MSO delinquent wages. Apana noted that suspended members will be expelled June 1 if we do not convince them to reinstate their membership. Discussion of benefits of membership.
