Regular Executive Board Meeting Number 20-2, 17 February 2020, at Local 655 Office

Meeting called to order at 10:08 AM. Present: Reskin, van Eck, Apana, Corey, Kleiman; Bravo, Folse absent.

MMC to approve minutes of January 27, 2020 meeting.

Secretary-Treasurer's Report: presentation of expense report, membership rolls, bank balance data, and new members. Apana reported on communications from AFM re upcoming jingle negotiations; Pension Fund contacting SFS re Banos judgement. Apana reported on the number of members late in paying annual dues.

VP Report: van Eck reported on SOA musician angst over conductor search. Fuller arrived at 10:20 AM and Aron arrived at 10:22 AM.

President's Report: no report.

Committee Reports: none.

Special Orders: MMC to schedule board meeting for March 25 at 11 AM pending availability of absent Board members.

Unfinished Business: none.

New Business: MMC (moved by van Eck) to renew fgomusicians.org domain. MMC (moved by Apana) to find L Scarpino guilty of failure to pay work dues.

Good and Welfare: Corey noted that T Fields is writing an NPR article on SFS. Apana noted highlights of 990 returns from last year for local orchestras. Apana reminded the Board that 2020 is an election year for the Local and on the importance of recruiting candidates for office. Apana remarked that members need to be reminded about the conflict of interest in representing management as well as musicians. Fuller noted issues with parking and overtime at a recent Orchestra Miami service.
