REGULAR MEMBERSHIP MEETING, Monday, September 19, 2011 at 6:30 pm

Prior to the meeting being called to order, Steve Sanchez of American Income Life gave a presentation on the free AD&D policy provided for all Local 655 members by AIL.

Meeting called to order at 6:51 PM.

Roll Call

Officers present: Clippard, Holstein, Apana, Corcillo, Kerley, Kolcz, Turner, van Eck. 16 members present (a quorum).

Minutes

MMC (moved by Apana) to dispense with the reading of the minutes. MMC to approve minutes of 4/25/11 meeting.

Report of Officers

Apana reported on membership rolls, bank balances, and income and expense totals.

Clippard reported on the upcoming elections and issued a call for nominees; advised members to check their AFM-EPF statements and to contact the fund prior to retiring; settlement where BAA agrees to pay all musicians as employees; ratification of a CBA for PBO; unpaid wages to SFS musicians; getting paid properly for recordings.

Report of Committees

Election Committee: Whitney introduced committee members Martinez, Alamilla, and Kaplan; reported on nominating petitions received; and reminded members of the 9/22/11 deadline for receipt of nominating petitions.

Good and Welfare

Tempkins asked for an update on the FGO lawsuit. Bermann reported on unpaid wages for FSP musicians. Apana informed members about the Miami-Dade Wage Theft Ordinance. Bermann asked about unpaid wages for MSO musicians. Apana reminded members about the upcoming nominations deadline. Clippard announced that she will not be running for reelection due to personal reasons.
