AFM Local 655 Election Committee Report

At the May 28,2026 Executive Board Meeting, President Hawley moved to appoint VP Karen Fuller to serve as chair of Local 655’s 2026 Election Committee. VP Fuller accepted. Local 655 members Laura Winters and Robert Chapman also agreed to serve.

On June 23, 2026, Jeff Apana, the Secretary-Treasurer, set up email account electioninfo2026@afm655.org for the Election Committee to receive email directly from members, and for the Election Committee to relay nominating and election information.

On June 25, 2026, PO Box 670326 Coral Springs, FL 33067 was opened at the post office located at 6295 West Sample Road, for the purpose of receiving nominating petitions and election ballots. The keys were received by VP Fuller.

 The deadline for petitions to be received was September 17, 2026. However, the election chair was out of town, so six of the petitions were collected from the P.O. Box on September 22, 2026. The Election Committee agreed in advance that all petitions postmarked before the September 17^th deadline would be accepted.

Nominating petition received for Richard Bravo for Director in P.O. Box 670326.

Nominating petition received for Lucian Williams for Director in P.O. Box 670326.
Sept. 22:   

Nominating petition received for Kendra Hawley for President in P.O. Box 670326.

Nominating petition received for Melody Stein for VP in P.O. Box 670326.
Nominating petition received for Matt Corey for Director in P.O. Box670326.

Nominating petition received for Dina Kostic for Director in P.O. Box 670326.

Nominating petition received for Carol Naveira for Director in P.O. Box 670326.

Nominating petition received for Andrew Proctor for Director in P.O. Box 670326.

 On September 25, 2026 P.O. Box 670326 was closed and a money order refund of $69 was received.

 Final slate of candidates for the 2027-2029 term:

For President: Kendra Hawley

For VP: Melody Stein

For Secretary-Treasurer: Jeffrey Apana

For Director (6 positions): Richard Bravo, Matt Corey, Dina Kostic, Carol Naveira, Andrew Proctor, Lucian Williams

Since there is just one nominee each for President, Secretary-Treasurer and the six Director positions, those candidates are automatically elected for the 2027-2029 term and a ballot vote is not necessary.

The 2026 Election Committee certifies that the nominations for office were fairly and accurately conducted, and that the election results are as indicated above.
