West Palm Beach based guitarist - composer, James McCreavy, is one of South Florida's finest young musicians. Originally from Canada, he has established himself as a respected composer and performer with such luminaries as jazz organist, Lonnie Smith, and multi-instrumentalist, Ira Sullivan, with whom he has recorded. His diversity is also shown in his work as musical director and guitarist with saxophonist, Clarence Clemons, (from Bruce Springsteen's E-Street Band) and as composer-conductor of the score for CHARCOAL SKETCHES. He has been busy in the recording studio with various projects, including, his own first CD, Night Vision. James McCreavy has performed with Perry Como, Trini Lopez, saxophonist Boots Randolph (Yakkety Sax) and with fellow composer Alex Harvey, who had a mega hit with the song, Delta Dawn. He has established himself as a composer and performer with such luminaries as jazz organist, Dr. Lonnie Smith (who spent his early years recording with George Benson) and multi-instrumentalist, Ira Sullivan, with whom he has recorded. Additionally, he has worked a great deal with Dave Hubbard (tenor sax) who also played with Benson in the early days. In the past he has worked as musical director and guitarist for saxophonist Clarence Clemons from grammy award winning Bruce Springsteen's E-Street Band James has three CD's to his credit: Night Vision, containing many original works, Elegance, a solo CD on nylon string guitar and Caribbean Connection, his most recent CD, which features original compositions combined with island favorites. His style ranges from classical to jazz with hip-hop and reggae grooves at times. James maintains a whirlwind touring schedule, performing at major clubs and events from New York to Miami. He has performed in Nashville, Houston, Washington, and all over Canada. As well as performing in a multitude of live venues, he has played on numerous recording sessions for other artists.
