11/01/19 Official Business

Thank you to the sixteen members (a quorum) that attended the October 29 membership meeting. All of the proposed bylaw amendments were adopted. Updated bylaws will be available soon on the website and by contacting the office.

11/01/19 Last Month at the Local

Local 655 recently joined an alliance of labor and community organizations in Miami-Dade County. The alliance is working on a number of issues of importance to a number of different groups, one of which is wage theft.

If you are working under an AFM agreement, that agreement gives you a number of protections, including guaranteed minimum pay rates and timely payment of wages. But if you are working without the protection of an AFM agreement, or you do not know if there is an AFM agreement in place, there are a number of things you can do to protect yourself.
