- Regular Members: $115+ $30= $145 or $72.50
- Life Members: $65+ $30= $95 or $47.50
- Inactive Life Members: $45+ $30= $75 or $37.50
(Dues+Life Insurance Assessment=annual amount due/semiannual rate due in January and July)
Resignations must be received by January 14 or you will be liable for first-quarter dues

Resolution to Amend the Bylaws
OLD BUSINESS STILL PENDING:
- Petition to eliminate the Life Insurance Benefit

NEW BUSINESS:
(The Bylaw Committee reports UNFAVORABLY on resolution 1 and FAVORABLY on resolutions 2 and 3.)
Resolution 1: Good and Welfare Fund
Be it Resolved, that the Local shall:
- Eliminate the current Life Insurance Benefit.
- Create a separate bank account to be used exclusively for the Good and Welfare of members in good standing and the families of recently deceased members in good standing.
- Such account shall be funded by a special assessment of $30 per year which shall be payable by each member in good standing on January 1 of the years 2001 through 2005 (total assessment of $150 per member payable over 5 years).
- Funds for the account may be supplemented by means including but not limited to: interest earned, donations, and benefit concerts.
- The account shall be administered by a board of Trustees consisting of the Local 655 President, the Local 655 Treasurer, and three rank-and-file members appointed by the Executive Board.
- The account shall provide benefits of up to $1000 to members in good standing or the families of recently deceased members in good standing upon request for assistance and subject to verification of need by the Trustees of the account.
Resolution 2: Annual Dues Increase
Whereas the Local’s current revenue is sufficient only to meet basic operating costs and services, and
Whereas the Local would like to expand the Referral Program and its organizing initiatives, and
Whereas the Local must have finances to deal with unexpected expenses, be it
Resolved, that article X Section 2 be amended by increasing Annual Dues rates by $10 per year: to "$125 plus the Life Insurance Assessment" for Regular Members, to "$75 plus the Life Insurance Assessment" for Life Members, and to "$55 plus the Life Insurance Assessment" for Inactive Life Members.
Resolution 3: Treasurer Position
Whereas the Treasurer, in addition to hours worked at home, has maintained office hours in excess of an average of 12 hours per week for the past two years, and
Whereas the Treasurer is currently responsible for the primary means of communication with the membership, the Newsletter and the Website, and also for preparing all Federation and government reports, including but not limited to FIF, FWD, 990, LM-2, payroll liability, and workers’ compensation, and
Whereas the Treasurer currently edits and maintains minutes for all Executive Board and General Membership Meetings, be it
Resolved, that all references to "Treasurer" be replaced with "Secretary-Treasurer," and be it
Resolved, that all references to "President/Secretary" be replaced with "President," and be it
Resolved, that Article VII Section 4(e) be amended to read, "His/Her
salary shall be $7,800 [$10,400] per year, paid weekly."

Resolved, NEW SECTION Article VII Section 4 (i), "He/she shall have the authority, with the approval of the Executive Board, to employ personnel to assist him/her in his/her duties. The wages for such personnel shall be determined by the Executive Board." And be it
Resolved, NEW SECTION Article VII Section 4 (j) "He/she shall be responsible for collecting all dues, fees, and assessments." And be it
Resolved, NEW SECTION VII 4(k), "He/She shall keep a faithful record of proceedings of meetings of the membership and of he Executive Board, keep a true account of the membership, and issue notices for all meetings of the membership and Executive Board." and be it
Resolved, that Article VII 2(j) be amended to read "He/She shall keep
a faithful record of proceedings of meetings of the membership and of he
Executive Board, answer all communications, keep a true account
of the membership, and issue notices for all meetings of the membership and
Executive Board."
