New Local Engagement Contract form Lets Leader Make Pension Contributions
The AFM has just released a new local engagement form, LS-1. This new form can be used for single engagements (i.e. on a single date at a single location) or multiple engagements as follows:
- Multiple engagements reported must be at the same venue
- Multiple engagements reported must occur within a 31-day time period
The LS-1 Can be used in place of an LP-1 and a participation agreement for single engagements, thus reducing paperwork and also allowing the leader to make the pension contribution on behalf of the purchaser (even if the leader is not incorporated!) However, the LS-1 only covers wages and pension contributions; if there are other terms or conditions for the engagement, you will need to execute an additional agreement (such as the LP-1 or a custom-made agreement).
