and just who would be judging this audition?
Local area contractors for organizations with AFM agreements will be listening to the auditions.
It would be helpful to know which organizaions are looking for which instruments.
Are we putting non-union players in front of union contractors? If so, why?
The audition is open to all musicians whether they are members or not. This is a sub-list audition so there are no specific positions being auditioned; contractors will be hearing all instruments.
Please answer the question regarding whether or not non-union players will be there auditioning and possibly receiving work over union players.

Also, will union reps be there to personally invite non-members to be there and strongly advise joining the local?
I would like to audition in both Classical and Pop areas? Is that possible? Bud Caputo, Trombone, 561-625-3658
The auditions are open to non-members as well as union members, and SFMA representatives will be available at the auditions to answer any questions and provide membership materials to those interested. As the contractors present represent diverse organizations, musicians are encouraged to perform both classical and pops selections if they are so inclined.
I will be out of town at a music conference in New York. Is there any way to send a tape?
Will this be a "behind-the-curtain" or face to face audition?
As there are no specific positions being auditioned for (this is a sub list audition), and as contractors will need to match names and contact information to auditionees should they wish to hire them as subs in the future, there will be no screen at this audition.
Will I be able to audition on my own Timpani?
Audition for Guitarist Vocalist?
The deadline for scheduling a time for these auditions has now passed. Thanks to all who have expressed interest in participating.
