Victoria's Secret Musicians to Receive Additional Payment

If you watched the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2008 on CBS on December 3, you may have seen some Local 655 members. This year's show was recorded at the Fontainebleau in Miami Beach. The orchestra was contracted under an AFM agreement by Local 655 members Geremy Miller and Alan Rumphs.

If you were watching the CW network on December 17, you may have noticed that the show was rebroadcast. Under the terms of the AFM Television Videotape Agreement, musicians receive an additional payment for each additional broadcast. So in January, the musicians who performed for the show will be getting a late Christmas present, courtesy of the AFM Agreement.

AFM agreements serve to protect the rights of musicians working under them, and we are happy to report that we were able to secure this additional payment because this engagement took place under the terms of an AFM agreement. And if the show is broadcast a third time, or is released on DVD, the AFM will be there to make sure that the musicians are compensated for the use of their product.

For information on how the AFM can help protect your gig, please give us a call.
