Bank of America will raise wages to a minimum $25 an hour by 2025.

The raise will affect 50,000 of its nearly 175,000 employees. Last March the Bank raised minimum wages to $20 per hour, well above the $15-17 national median pay. Bank of America will also require its U.S. vendors to pay their 43,000 employees at least $15 per hour.

120 workers at Duke University Press are organizing a union through the Washington-Baltimore NewsGuild. They are fed up with years of high turnover, low pay, and discrimination.

SAG-AFTRA has adopted its first agreement covering influencers. Those paid to promote products and services on networks such as TikTok and Instagram can now work under a SAG-AFTRA contract. The contract only covers those performing solo and paid for audio or video content.

A study by Bank of America and Revelio Labs reports that average pay for new jobs is below pre-pandemic pay in 12 of 15 sectors, on average by five percent. The biggest drop is in retail trade pay, by 21 percent, followed by professional and business services, by 14 percent, and transportation, by 12 percent. One of the few sectors where pay for new jobs is up from 2019 is information, including tech positions, which is up by 38 percent.
