Currently adjunct faculty contracts expire every semester and they would like longer contracts and more transparency with hiring and firing.

Their median income is only $19,000 per year and half of them do not work enough hours to qualify for medical benefits. They are also hired on only one-year contracts with no guarantees of being rehired.
