Last Month at the Local

Next month we welcome new members to the Executive Board. Kendra Hawley will succeed Charles Reskin as president, as Charles is stepping down to return to a position as Director.

Kendra is a freelance oboist who has played with many organizations in south Florida, from Miami City Ballet and Palm Beach Opera to the Nu Deco Ensemble. She has served as Palm Beach Opera Orchestra committee chair for many years and was their ROPA delegate for two years. She also served a term on the ROPA Board. As committee chair, she has participated in several negotiations. Please wish her well in her new position at the Local!

Elevated to Vice President is Director Karen Fuller, who has been on the Board for many years. She has served as committee chair for the Palm Beach Opera Orchestra, where she has participated in many negotiations. She also serves on the Broadway Across America committee.

Joining the Board as a new Director is Dina Kostic. Dina is New World Symphony alum and was violinist with the Florida Philharmonic at the time of its bankruptcy. Since then she has freelanced as a member of many of the orchestras in south Florida including Miami City Ballet and Atlantic Classical Orchestra. As a chamber music performer, she is a founding member of Trio Paradigm and a core member of the Palm Beach Chamber Music Festival.

Please also thank retiring officers, VP Iris van Eck and Directors Richard Bravo and Carey Kleiman for their years of service!
