We regret to announce the passing of Reginald F. Nicholson. Reggie was a Local 655 member for over 40 years. He retired from the Miami-Dade Public Schools in 2004, following a 36-year teaching career. A longtime Coconut Grove resident and former Commodore of the Coconut Grove Sailing Club, Reggie continued to be active as an instructor at the New World School and the University of Miami Young Musicians Camp, French hornist with Miami Symphony, and Artistic Director/Conductor of the Alhambra Orchestra. He mentored countless students throughout his career, and will be missed throughout the South Florida musical community. Reggie is survived by his beloved wife Carol.

Please join us to network with other members and discuss issues of importance to you. Also, another Membership meeting has been scheduled for May, with proposed amendments to the Bylaws on the agenda.

The Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization has passed a non-binding resolution directing the state of Florida to hire
Broward County businesses and workers to rebuild I-595.

Despite the economy,
Broadway is doing well. Broadway theaters are reporting minimal dropoffs at the box office this season, and more shows will open this season than in either of the past two seasons.
