04/06/23 We Stand in Solidarity with the Musicians of the Punta Gorda Symphony

A few days ago, the "talented musicians" of "Charlotte County's premier professional orchestra" were asked to re-apply for the positions that many of them have performed admirably in for many years.

The musicians of South Florida Musicians Association stand in solidarity with the musicians of the Punta Gorda Symphony and offer our support as they fight for respect, fairness, and justice. If we stand together, we can stop abusive treatment of musicians throughout the state of Florida!

The Music Performance Trust Fund has grants available for the current fiscal year. MPTF will again be fully-funding single-musician performances at senior centers in our jurisdiction, in addition to their regular funding. If you are interested in securing funding for a senior center performance, or wish to apply for a grant for other free, public performances, please contact us.
