United Food and Commercial Workers have voted down a tentative agreement with Kroger by overwhelming margins. Workers are upset over wages that are not keeping up with inflation, as well as a proposed change that would make only full-time employees eligible for seniority pay. They are also upset over chronic understaffing.
AGMA has reached its first agreement with Texas Ballet Theater. The dancers voted for union representation in 2023 and have been negotiating for their first contract for two years. The new contract includes pay raises, paid parental leave, health and safety protections, retirement benefits, and other protections. Notably, the contract also contains diversity, equity, and inclusion provisions.
The Kennedy Center will include two non-Equity tours on its schedule next season. After President Trump complained about union costs, and in a move to “be more competitive,” the Center will present Mrs. Doubtfire and Chicago next season.
